Hagrama Mohilary
Hagrama Mohilary is the President of the Bodoland People’s Front and also the Chief Executive Member of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC).
Hailing from Rangalikhata, Debargaon in the Kokrajhar district, he served as the Military Secretary of the Bodo Liberation Tigers (BLT) before becoming the Chief Executive Member of the interim council of Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) in 2005. He holds the position of Chief Executive Member of Bodoland Territorial Council till today. Before joining the BLT, he was associated with the Bodo Volunteer Force until the Bodoland Autonomous Council (BAC) agreement was signed in 1993.
As the President of the Bodoland People’s Front (BPF), Mohilary has played a pivotal role in the overall development of the region as well as the state. BPF, under his guidance, has come out as one of the strongest and stable regional political parties in the state. He has also been one of the main architects in maintaining the alliance with the BJP and AGP in the state. Under his leadership, BPF has been at the helm of the BTC for three consecutive terms.
Known as the ‘Man of Action’, Mohilary has endured tortures and jail terms during the period of the struggle.
